Latin American & Iberian Network for Academic Collaboration (LAINAC)

UTokyo LAINAC offers opportunities where UTokyo students can encounter students from Spain and Latin America; we also arranges various programs which enable UTokyo students to sustain dense interactions with students from Spanish-speaking countries.

There are programs which send UTokyo students to Spain and Latin America, and courses titled “Global Praxis” are recognized as official classes offered by the College of Arts and Sciences. Please refer to the section “Study Abroad” for more information on the content of those programs.

Moreover, we organize programs where foreign students from Spain and Latin America come to the University of Tokyo and share learning opportunities with UTokyo students. For more details, check out the section “Study at UTokyo”.

We have also been operating a course where UTokyo students engage themselves in Japanese and Spanish conversations with the students from the National Autonomous University of Mexico via Skype. Further information can be found under the section “Language Exchange”.
